How long have you participated in the sport? How did you get started?
I have run off and on for years, biked seriously for past 3, and learned to swim last March.  After years of hanging out in the gym I was stagnet.  I trained with a trainer for two years and the last year Tamara Elliott and I trained together for 5 days a week at 5am.  I was burned out.  NET came to our Health Fair at work and I picked up some info from Becky’s table.  Went back to Tamara and told her that I needed to get outside.  The rest as they say was history.
What is your favorite race?
Well I have a few…  Love the HotterNHell100 bike ride.  The Rock n Roll Series San Antonio 1/2 marathon.  Love the Sprint Triathlons.
Running Shoe Brand?
Brooks Glycerin
Favorite Long Run/Race Nutrition?
Montana Huckleberry Hammer Gel
Favorite Post-Race Food?
Champagne and Choc Milk!!!  But not together.
Favorite Piece of Training Equipment/Gear?
My “Sole Sister”!!!  Tamara Elliott.  Without her I have terrible runs, boring swims, and lonely bike rides.  I know that there are others out there (lots of you), but there is something to be said for finding a bestie who challanges you, laughs at you, and laughs with you.
Any advice for other athletes?
Go outside.  Running, biking and swimming is great for you physically and mentally.  Feeling angry, run and get it out.  Need to feel free, get on your bike and feel the wind in your hair.  Up tight?  Swim, its so methodical its like meditating.  The sunshine and fresh air are like medicine.  Sign up for a race!  Put all three together and you’ll be invincible!
